One of the first women to date Warren Beatty, back in the late 1950s, was actress Jane Fonda. In the early stages of their careers, Fonda and Beatty did a screen test together, and from that came their early romance.

Jane Fonda went on to have an incredible career, winning two Academy Awards, two BAFTAs, seven Golden Globes and a Primetime Emmy Award. As well as her success with acting, Fonda created a fitness empire in the 1980s. Her exercise videos Jane Fonda's Workout became the highest-selling VHS of all time. Impressively, Fonda has been a prominent political activist since the 1970s when she protested against the Vietnam War. Now in her 80s, the actress stars in Netflix hit Grace and Frankie.

Beatty's relationship with Jane Fonda ended when he spotted actress Joan Collins in the restaurant, La Scala. At the time, Collins was the UK's answer to Elizabeth Taylor, and she and Beatty ended up in a serious relationship. The pair were together between 1959 and 1961, during which time they became engaged. In her 1978 book Past Imperfect: An Autobiography, the Dynasty star shared that she was pregnant with Beatty's child. Collins chose not to continue with the pregnancy, and her relationship with Beatty ended.

In 1981, Collins snagged the now-iconic role of Alexis Carrington in the soap opera, Dynasty. She became an international star, and won a Golden Globe for the role. The actress has continued working with parts on the stage, the small screen, and in movies. Collins played the Grand Duchess of Oxford in E! soap opera The Royals between 2014 and 2018 before joining the cast of Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story: Apocolypse. She has been married five times, and has three grandchildren.
